Al Carmen Guastafeste

  Al Carmen Guastafeste is a pianist, composer, recording artist, teacher, and lecturer. As a scholarship student Al received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Juilliard, and a Professional Diploma as Specialist in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

  Al, performing since the age of six, has played in concert halls, and on radio and TV in the United States, Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Guam, and the Philippine Islands. Al was pianist/conductor for Marilyn Monroe, Florence Henderson, Allen and Rossi, and many other notable stars.

  Al is equally comfortable performing Popular, Jazz, and traditional Classical programs. This is evident by his world premiere performance of his Contemporary Jazz-Rock Piano Sonata in a piano recital at Carnegie Recital Hall, N.Y. on May 26, 1981.

  Al received several awards from Juilliard which included scholarships for exceptional piano performances, two
Teaching Apprenticeships, and a Teaching Fellowship.
Al also signed a contract to teach at Juilliard.

  Al was the recipient of several awards from the United States Army for Outstanding Performer, Musical Director, Technical Advisor, Production Consultant, and Musical Producer.
